Weather & Rain Outs
|
Weather and Rain Outs Please check your email on meet days for up-to-date information on weather cancellations. Rain alone will not cancel a meet. A meet WILL be delayed (or canceled) due to thunder and lightening. After each episode of thunder, a 30-minute delay will occur. Rescheduling - If a meet has to be stopped due to thunder, the meet might be rescheduled for another day on that week. To count as a full meet, the Free Relay event must be completed. |

- Parent volunteers are prohibited from consuming alcohol during meets.
- Our league stresses a friendly, competitive atmosphere. Please help make teams visiting Warson Woods feel welcome. Conversely, when we are visiting other venues, we want to be respectful of their facilities and rules.
- Bullpen
- Workers not only must supervise but also make sure swimmers get to their
events. Please talk to your swimmer(s) about the following:
- Stay in the bullpen. This is the best way to ensure that he/she does not miss an event. When a swimmer scratches, it affects not only the swimmer but the team as well. If they need to leave the bullpen they should notify a bullpen worker.
- Horse play in the bullpen will not be tolerated. Swimmers will receive 1 warning. After that the swimmer being expelled from the bullpen. He/she will have to sit with parents for the remainder of the meet and it will be the parent's responsibility to get the swimmer to his/her event(s) on time.
- Although there will be volunteers assigned to work the coveted bullpen duty, it’s impossible for a handful of volunteers to keep track of all our swimmers and make sure each is in the right place at the right time as the swimming events take place. YOU are responsible for getting your swimmer to the bullpen area on time.
RIBBONS
- How to get your Ribbon - Ribbons are usually available to pick up from the alphabetized file boxes on the picnic tables under the covered area at the pool on Tuesday mornings during Donut Fun Day. Occasionally, the ribbons are not available until Wednesday morning. You are welcome to check your family’s file during practice when the files are sitting out or ask a Board member for help.
- DQs/Disqualifiactions - Your swimmer might not earn a ribbon for each event that they swim, including when they are “DQd” or disqualified (ex. They use a stroke or kick or wall touch that isn't "legal" for that stroke). We will try to have a list of DQs next to the file boxes so you can learn why your child DQd.
-
How Ribbons are Earned - The
following is from the River City Racer’s League bylaws:
- Ribbons will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place swimmers in each heat in all events including relays.
- 10 & under swimmers placing 4th - 6th will be awarded green Participant ribbons unless they are disqualified.
- 11 & older swimmers placing 4th - 6th will not be awarded Participant Ribbons.
